Welcome

So many are not sure they will have eternal life in heaven. The Gospel [good news] is the way to heaven, and God has promised this to all through faith. 1 John 2;25 in the Catholic Bible page 367 says “And this is the promise that he made us: eternal life.” The gospel is the way to eternal life. You can have peace by knowing your eternal destiny.

My Goals in these Discussions

  • Over the years I have heard that Catholics are born-again Christians.

    • COMMON GROUND. Catholics and Protestants agree that the Gospel must be taught and preached. So, the question, is the Gospel being preached in the Roman Catholic

  • Church?

    • I will be pointing to different doctrines in the Roman Catholic church and comparing  them to the Gospel in the Bible. Is Rome faithfully proclaiming the Gospel or are they in violation of Galatians 1:6-9? "Catechism of the Catholic Church" #75" quote: The Gospel is to be the source of all saving truth and moral discipline. "Christ the Lord, in whom the entire Revelation of the most high God is summed up, commanded the apostles to preach the Gospel, which has been promised beforehand by the prophets, and which he fulfilled in His own person and promulgated with His own lips, in preaching the Gospel, they were to communicate the gifts of God to all men”. Catechism of the Catholic Church #77 .. Quote: "The Gospel is to be preserved in a continuous line of succession until the end of time. Our marching orders are 1 Galatians 1; 6-9 [page 277 Catholic New Testament]"1 am astonished that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel-not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one, we preached to you, let him be accursed.” [There are a number of other verses saying the same thing.

About Gary

I was born and raised in central California and attended the Mennonite church until around 18 years of age. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior around that time and was baptized by immersion in the Merced River.

At that time, I met my wife-to-be, Janie Holmes, and we were married on February 10th, 1962. We have been blessed with three boys, ten grandchildren, and two great-grandsons. All are born-again believers in Christ.

We joined the Presbyterian church in Merced California and during that time discovered my Spiritual Gift of teaching. [Romans 12:6-8] I developed a hunger for the Word and for the next forty years studied [2 Timothy 2;15] and taught adult Sunday School and home Bible studies.

I'm conversant with Mormon and Jehovah witness's beliefs and take every opportunity to share the gospel when they come to my door.

As a result of my current daily study in Catholicism, I will share the gospel of Jesus Christ, as I see serious faults in their interpretation and teaching of the gospel.

My wife and I are located near Pittsburg Kansas.

My hobbies are sculpturing, oil painting and I was a team roper for over the past sixteen years.
